The Friends

Welcome to the Friends of the Weaver Hall Museum.

The group was formed in 1999 as the Friends of the Salt Museum. In 2010 the Salt Museum was relaunched as the Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse following the reorganisation of local government, when the facilities became part of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Museum Service.

The current chair is John Glaister who is supported by a keen and dedicated committee. The Friends have over 150 members and their aim is to support the Museum and ensure that its rich heritage is safeguarded for future generations.

The Friends organise regular events at the Museum and aim to support the curatorial staff in their work at the museum. You will find the details of our programme of events and full information on the Friends film showings on the website. Members also receive regular updates on the Friends activities by email.
