Membership Card Changes

 A Happy New Year to all our Friends.

 

The Committee wish to thank you all for joining the Friends. To some of you especially a very big thank you for your continued support over a great many years.

We discussed the issue of spiralling costs at a recent meeting and made the decision to maintain the current membership fees. However, in a bid to minimise administration costs, we decided we had to make some changes.

Our first suggestion of sending renewed membership cards out with a newsletter is proving to be impracticable. So this year all Friends, on renewal of their membership, will receive a new card which will be undated. It will then be valid into the future as long as you renew your membership. All new members will, as usual, receive their card as they join. This will considerably reduce postage costs in the future.

In following years renewals sent through the post or left at the museum will be acknowledged by email or by phone. We estimate this will save us in excess of £130 per year in postage alone.

We hope that, as supporters of the museum, you will also support this change. If at some future date your card is lost or destroyed we can supply a new one for you to collect at the museum. If you have any concerns please contact Mary (membership secretary) on 01606 557983.
