Friends Evening Talk: Extinction
17th September 2013

Extinction

The theory of mass extinctions and other fascinating facts.

Dr Kate Riddington, the Keeper of Natural History at Cheshire West Museums, will explain to us how Life on Earth has faced many challenges over the past 600 million years from meteorites to volcanic toxicity; and as a result many creatures have become extinct.

We will discover what may have caused life to become extinct, and look at the theory that mass extinction occurs every 26 million years.

This talk is linked to the next exhibition 'Trapped in Time' and is being treated as the preview event.
